Wheelchairs and Transport Chairs
When a person has difficulty walking or weakness a wheelchair is often needed. If you have enough upper body strength, you can move your wheelchair yourself by moving the wheels.
When it is difficult to push your own wheelchair a caregiver or family member can help by pushing you to where you need to go in a transport chair.
When moving from sitting to standing and back to sitting again becomes a struggle, a lift chair can make getting into and out of a chair easy. Lift chairs come in a variety of colors and styles to fit your home decor. Many older adults have difficulty sleeping in their beds throughout the night and find comfort in having a plush lift chair that they can rest in during the night and throughout the day.
We carry a nice variety of sturdy quality lift chairs and we will gladly deliver and set up your new lift chair so that you can start enjoying it right away. The remote control is very easy to use and will allow you to adjust your new chair in a variety of positions so that you can be comfortable.
Rollators and Walkers
A walker is great to use if you have decreased balance and we have a variety of them to choose from. A 3 wheeled walker is good to use if you only need light support and it features a tight turning radius. 4 wheeled walkers usually feature a seat and some type of pouch or basket and offer more stability.
A standard walker has 2 wheels in front and is used by taking a step then moving the walker then taking a step and so on... A knee walker features a seat to rest your knee on if you are non weight bearing on your leg. This way you can maneuver around on one leg more easily.
This is an easy to use wheelchair transfer solution for your caregiver to transfer you to and from your vehicle for business or pleasure travel. The Milford Lift is a cost effective way to adapt your vehicle for easy transfers.
The Milford Lift will allow you to transfer into the passenger seat so that you can enjoy the company of the driver instead of having to sit in the rear of an adapted vehicle. Your caregiver will love using this to transfer you into and out of your vehicle.
Canes & Crutches
If you have an injury or disability you may experience decreased balance. Your physical therapist may suggest a cane to help you walk and compensate for issues with balance.
Canes come in a variety of styles and colors. Many people use a cane with a single tip. If you have had a stroke your therapist may suggest a quad cane which has 4 tips and a wider base of support.
A cane with an attached seat can be useful if you get tired or are going to an event where you may need to stand for a prolonged period of time. With a cane seat, you will always have a place to sit when fatigued because a seat will always be with you.
