Do You See Your Glass As Half-Full or Half-Empty?
Tue, Ari 5th, 2022
In your 20s you probably felt like you had your whole life ahead of you! In your 30s, you may have felt a little older but still young enough. When you started moving through your 40s the signs of aging may have started to creep in with a few gray hairs and "character lines". In your 50s you may start thinking about what you will do when you decide to retire. When the 60s arrive, you may start thinking about your own mortality as parents and older aunts and uncles have either already gone or are really getting up in age.
With many people living well into their 80s, 90s and even 100s, during these "golden years", how are you viewing life? Do you see your glass as half-full or half-empty?
Are you living life to the fullest or are you just marking time until "the end"?
What Is Your Outlook on Life?
It's important to have a positive outlook on life no matter what age you are. Even though our physical abilities may start to diminish as we get older, that doesn't mean our mental and emotional abilities have to lessen as well.
We can still enjoy life by doing things we love, interacting with friends and family, volunteering in our community, and exploring new things.
So, whatever your age, don't think of it as the end but rather just another phase in the journey that is life. Embrace each day and live it to the fullest!
Some people, after they turn 65, start to live like their life is almost over. They may not want to try new things or take risks because they think they're too old. But that's not how you should live your life! Just because you're getting older doesn't mean you can't still do things that bring you happiness and fulfillment. You should continue to enjoy your hobbies, travel, and spend time with loved ones.
Ways To Keep Living
Yes, your body is changing and you may not be able to do some of the things you used to, but that doesn't mean you have to sit at home all day! There are plenty of activities out there that can keep you busy and active.
That's where we come in! At Bell House Medical, we want you to live your best life and in the event, you suffer an illness or accident, we can help you remain as independent as possible inside and outside of your home.
For example, we have devices to help you get up and down the stairs, help you avoid a fall in the bathroom, and even mobility aids to help you get around town.
Visit our showroom in Lewes on Highway 1 or give us a call at 302-644-4404 with any questions.
So, don't be afraid to embrace aging! It's a natural process that everyone goes through and it doesn't have to be negative. See your glass as half-full and enjoy the rest of your life!
